Smoked Olive Oil - Castillo de Canena Smoked Extra Virgin Olive Oil - this stuff is amazing! It is a bit of an indulgence but you don't need to use much. It is smoked over a mix of oak, beech and birch. It has a very subtle smoked flavour and is excellent as a finishing oil. Don't cook with this, use it as a dip with a little Maldon salt and some crusty bread. Big Bend Market - about $30.00.
Finlandia Grapefruit Vodka
Lamarca Prosecco and Filandia Grapefruit Vodka - Okay, this combination unreal! It makes a beautiful cocktail (add a few frozen cranberries to the bottom of those gorgeous gold flutes). Lamarca Prosecco is a great inexpensive prosecco (about $12) to mix with your favourite spirit. Both are available at Liquor Crossing at Southpoint Common, Red Deer, Alberta.
Kungfu Girl Dry Reisling
Kungfu Girl Dry Reisling - this is a very casual, mid priced wine. It isn't too sweet and is very easy to drink. It is one of my favourites. Available at Liquor Crossing - Southpoint Common, Red Deer, Alberta.
Yuzu Kosho - this is a blend of yuzu peel (Japanese citrus fruit), salt, garlic, and chili peppers - it's fermented and adds an awesome punch of citrus, salt and heat to any soups, vinaigrettes, stir fry sauces.....anything! Big Bend Market - about $12.00.
Gold Rimmed Champagne Flutes - Chapters - $13.00.

Nixon Honeycomb! - Delicious, local, what else can I say? - About $10.00 at Big Bend Market.
Le Cruset Cookware
Le Cruset - I love all of my Le Cruset cookware. Although a little pricey they have a lifetime warranty and you can get this 6 quart on sale at Williams and Sonoma for about $150.00. That's an awesome deal.
Mortar and Pestle
Mortar and Pestle - I love its wide dish and hefty weight! It makes powders and pastes in no time. It is a piece of art in my kitchen. suttonpottery.com - about $200.00.
Jerusalem Cookbook - Yotam Ottolenghi and Sami Tamimi - I love this cookbook. It is filled with recipes and flavors from Jerusalem. Lots of veggies and very interesting flavours. It was voted one of the best cookbooks in 2011.
Espresso Cups - Anthropologie - about $6.00 each. I love these because you can serve espresso or do shots of out them and no one will know.
A humorous moment...my cucumbers are scared to be dill pickles! I feel so bad.
